eternal Living
Hello! Welcome to Silk and Purple! I am so glad you decided to stop by Silk and Purple in between your browsing and researching in the land of the internet. Silk and Purple is a Christian lifestyle blog featuring articles on faith, and the many roles wives and mothers play. From homeschooling to recipes and everything in between, as contrasting the words of silk and purple are, so is this online space. I’d like to personally invite you to browse through our pages. Be encouraged, be challenged, and find an answer to a question you are seeking.
vision
I hope Silk & Purple grows into an online space of collaboration featuring articles from women all over the world, God willing. However, in the meantime, you will find tips for homeschooling and articles that may be controversial. I believe in living a life full of radical faith that has no boundaries.
proverbs 31
A bit about ‘me’. I’m Mina, the one behind the site. As I grow up in the Lord, I desire above all else to be a proverbs 31 woman. If you are not familiar with proverbs 31 in the bible, the blog name comes from there. “Her clothing is silk and purple”, proverbs 31:22. This is where my hope lies. Not in the worldly terms of silk and purple(though I wouldn’t mind a purple silk kimono), but in the heavenly meaning.
My faith in his shed blood on the cross for my sins gives me the garment of salvation. It makes me a daughter of the King of kings. Hence, the symbolic meanings of silk and purple, regarding royalty. Now the rest of proverbs 31, He’s still growing me, sanctifying me, and purging me of the hot mess I once was, and some days, still am.
Mission
Silk & Purple exists to encourage the one. The one woman who doesn’t fit in. The woman who laments over the brokenness and yearns for the Lord’s return. The homeschool mom who is simply just winging it, and open to real suggestions without agendas. The woman whose past and brokenness is too much for the ‘normal’ Christian community to bear.
I write articles God puts on my heart, and use this space to share homeschool tips because I was once clueless and research homeschooling probably too much.
Anyone who knows me always tells me to sell my recipes, so you will find delicious healthy meal recipes often. I hope to inspire Christian moms to live a healthy lifestyle because it helps when our bodies are taken care of properly.
Silk and Purple is an online space proclaiming the Truth. It offers articles and encouragement for the Christian woman who doesn’t live life confined to boxes because she just so happens to be a circle.
You can’t find me on social media because I believe that in these last days, screen life is stealing the joy of real living. I believe in genuine real relationships instead of random comments and likes. Feel free to email me and I would love to correspond.

On a lighter note, I’m a thirty-something wife, eclectic homeschooling mama to 2 boys, wannabe homesteader, and I reside on the Big Island of Hawaii off the grid in a small cabin. You can find me in a kimono(best piece of clothing ever) with a cup of coffee snuggling my boys and reading from our ever-growing library.
5 Randoms:
• I wash my face with honey
• Favorite book besides The Word: Little House Series.
• It is my belief that tea parties are an art form and I love them: hosting particularly.
• I could eat salad with ranch dressing every day.
• My boys were both home water births, and I utilized the placenta for postpartum healing both times.

These articles I write just as much to myself as to anyone else. If there is an ounce of goodness or wisdom found here it is through Christ, and Christ alone. So, there’s really nothing special about me other than the saving grace of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was lost and now I’m found. It was a very long journey, and there’s not a day that goes by I don’t praise God for my salvation. You can read my testimony if you’re interested.
I think it is a blessing to meet you.
